Will Paul
Three years of experience working with young people experiencing hardship and problematic substance use has fostered a passion for walking alongside clients as they traverse the obstacles of their lives. Utilising a person-centred and strengths-based approach, my work aims to empower people with the knowledge and practical tools needed to navigate recovery through reflection, understanding, and skilful action.
This experience and my love for supporting others has led me down the road I currently walk to becoming a psychologist.
As a curious, energetic and open-minded person, I am passionate about substance use, mental health and connection. I believe that communities and individuals are the experts in their own lives and already have the power to heal and support those who need it. My job is the shine a light on those skills and let them do the rest.
A deep connection and fascination with Eastern philosophy and mindfulness-based therapies permeate my work, bringing simple and accessible practices into sessions with clients. I am energised and fuelled in knowing that by making small changes in our relationship with day-to-day life and those around us, we can not only increase our own well-being but the well-being of the broader community.
My purpose is to show people what they may have forgotten, that a purpose, a well of energy, a fire exists inside them. If we can take the time to stop, reflect, understand and act in accordance with this fire, then not only do we feel more in control of our lives, but we feel more connected to those around us.
